How to DIY E-Liq

DIY Your Own E-Liquid!

Electronic Cigarette Liquid is just water, Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG), flavorings and some percentage of pure nicotine or some other optional additives. You can make your own E-Liquid easily with our E-Liq Materials to save your money and to have your own unique flavor.

Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG) are commonly used organic compound that are recognized as generally safe by the Food and Drug Administration. They are used in food coloring, and flavoring, as an additive to keep food, medicines and cosmetics moist, and in machines that simulate smoke as well as an ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwash. In E-Cig, Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG) function to provide the vapor mist that looks like smoke and to suspend flavor.

Somebody may be allergic with Propylene Glycol (PG). In this case, it is better to use Vegetable Glycerin (VG).

For making your own electronic cigarette liquid, what you need are the followings:
1. Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin: You need to have FOOD GRADE Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG) as we provide here. The Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin are the ingredients that creates the visible smoke/fog. In fact, this is the ingredient in smoke machine fluid that creates the smoke/fog.
2. Distilled Water: Filtered drinkable water is OK. Other water, such as tap water has too many chemicals to make it healthy to vaporize into your lungs.
3. Flavorings: You need to have high temperature resistance and water soluble flavorings as we provide here. Other flavorings which have only room temperature resistance and contains either oil or sugars may not be suitable for smoking in a personal vaporizer.
4. Optional additives: such as herbs, tobacco or whatever additives for tobacco and herbal recipes.

For your convenience, here we provide you these basic E-Liq Materials and you can DIY your own E-Liquid to save your money and to have your own unique flavor.

The E-Liquid composition may be variable with these base ingredient PG or VG and with the E-Liquid Flavorings. Normally you can put in the following compositions for zero nicotine E-Liquid as an example:
* 15% Water
* 15% Flavoring
* 70% Vegetable Glycerin or Propylene Glycol.

You can also add some nicotine inside, as the following composition normally for instance:
* 10% Water
* 10% Flavoring
* 20% 24mg Commercial Nicotine Liquid
* 60% Vegetable Glycerin or Propylene Glycol

For thicker smoke, use less water. While you are using E-Cig in higher temperarue environment or hot season, use less water. If making a solution with additives, then leave out the water and use either a few drops of additive solution or more depending on strength and taste. You will have to experiment!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are making a nicotine based liquid, there are some things you need to keep in mind. Nicotine is a poison. Too much can be very toxic. Nicotine is an alkaloid found in certain plants, predominantly tobacco, and in much lower quantities in tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant and green peppers. When absorbed in small amounts, whether from cigarettes, cigars or E-Cig, nicotine can cause stimulation, a feeling of relaxation, calmness, and alertness. The effects of nicotine can last from minutes to hours. The carcinogenic properties of nicotine in a standalone form (i.e., separated from smoking or chewing tobacco) have not been evaluated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, However current available literature indicates that nicotine in standalone form does not promote the development of cancer in healthy tissue and has no mutagenic properties.

The Throat Kicker 1.0
This is my battery mod I just created today. It's powered off of a 1000mah CR123 Li-Ion cell @ 3.6V. Standard e-cig batteries rang from 150 - 250mah; so this will last you at least a couple days. The mod takes a DSE-901 atomizer and is actually shorter than a 901 e-cig. I have some comparison shots to give you an idea of it's size.

Finally, one of my batt dies and i decide to make my battery mod using 3xAA NiMH 2700mAh and some parts of health DX e-cig.

The mod really works great! Really better than health, with more TH and a lot of vapor!

Shell Oil formed a joint venture with HR Biopetroleum called Cellana and they plan to produce biofuels from marine algae. Shell, which owns a majority stake in the venture, will start production of a demonstration facility on the Kona coast of Hawai'i Island immediately. The production volume for the facility, which is on a site leased from the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (NELHA), will be small but the main goal is to research which natural microalgae species produce the highest yields biofuels

Algae: 'The ultimate in renewable energy'

"Algae is the ultimate in renewable energy," Glen Kertz, president and CEO of Valcent Products, told CNN while conducting a tour of his algae greenhouse on the outskirts of El Paso.
Kertz, a plant physiologist and entrepreneur, holds about 20 patents. And he is psyched about the potential algae holds, both as an energy source and as a way to deal with global warming.
"We are a giant solar collecting system. We get the bulk of our energy from the sunshine," said Kertz.
Algae are among the fastest growing plants in the world, and about 50 percent of their weight is oil. That lipid oil can be used to make biodiesel for cars, trucks, and airplanes.

An Arizona energy company is betting big on algae. PetroSun Biofuels has opened a commercial algae-to-biofuels farm on the Texas Gulf Coast near scenic ~~Harlington~~ Harlingen Texas. The farm is a 1,100 acre network of saltwater ponds, 20 acres of which will be dedicated to researching and developing an environmental jet fuel.

PetroSun's gameplan is to extract algal oil on-site at the farms and transport it to company bideisel refineries via barge, rail or truck. The company plans to open more farms in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia in 2008.

Of all the options for future jet biofuel production, algae is considered one of the most viable. It yields 30 times more energy per acre than its closest competitor, and requires neither fresh water, arable land used for cultivation, or consumable food, giving it an advantage over ethanol. PetroSun asserts that an area the size of Maryland could produce enough algae biofuel to satisfy the entire fuel requirements of the United States.

Making fuel out of algae is one of those ideas that everyone loves. An acre of algae can produce 50 times more oil than an acre of soy, estimates John Sheehan, now vice president of strategy and sustainable development at LiveFuels.
"It can produce a lot of oil," he said in an interview on Wednesday.
The oil can be used to make biodiesel or synthetic forms of petroleum or both. Many hope that algae-based fuel can sell for around $40 to $50 a barrel, or a lot less than crude.
Algae facilities can also suck significant amounts of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. The fumes coming out of utility smokestacks can be piped into algae growing facilities. And to top it off, algae's not a massive food crop at the moment, so you aren't using a valuable food crop to gas cars.

Japanese scientists create diesel-producing algae

Professor Watanabe’s vision arises from the extraordinary properties of the Botryococcus braunii algae: give the microscopic green strands enough light – and plenty of carbon dioxide – and they excrete oil. The tiny globules of oil that form on the surface of the algae can be easily harvested and then refined using the same “cracking” technologies with which the oil industry now converts crude into everything from jet fuel to plastics

I believe I can change Japan within five years,” the Professor told The Times from his laboratory in Tsukuba University. “A couple of years after that, we start changing the world.”

The Environment-Friendly Oil
Algae can take many forms, such as seaweed (macro-algae) and kelp. But for oil we use micro-algae, as found in outdoor ponds. Micro-algae is actually a highly efficient biological factory capable of taking carbon dioxide (CO2), a waste product, and converting it into a high-density natural oil through photosynthesis. This is algae oil, also known as algal oil.
Much of the world’s petroleum is actually made up of algae that decomposed over hundreds of millions of years. But by drilling and burning that oil now, we are releasing the carbon dioxide that was absorbed long ago. This “carbon positive" effect is what causes global warming.
Algae cultivated today absorbs CO2 today. Burning it releases only what it absorbed in the first place, resulting in a balanced “carbon neutral” effect. This makes algae oil an environment-friendly oil.

ราคาน้ำมันดิบโลกพุ่งทะยานเป็นประวัติการณ์ฉิวเฉียดบาร์เรลละ 120 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐฯ ส่งผลให้ราคาน้ำมัน ในประเทศปรับรายวัน

วันที่ 28 เมษายน 2551 ราคาหน้าปัมเชลล์ ดีเซล ลิตรละ 33.44 บาท...เบนซิน ลิตรละ 34.99 บาท

เพื่อเป็นตัวช่วย แบ่งเบาภาระค่าน้ำมัน พลังงานทดแทน...พลังงานทางเลือก ไบโอดีเซล เอทานอล...น้ำมันปาล์ม สบู่ดำ น้ำมันพืชใช้แล้ว...จึงถูกจับตาเป็นพิเศษ

พืชพลังงานทดแทน อาจจะคุ้นกันอยู่แล้ว เป็น...พืชที่สามารถเปลี่ยนเป็นน้ำมัน ได้ด้วยการคั้นโดยตรง แต่ยังมีกระบวนการเปลี่ยนเซลลูโลสพืช ให้เป็นสารทดแทนน้ำ มันด้วยกระบวนการเผาโดยไม่ใช้อากาศ

รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิษณุ มีอยู่ อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิศวกรรมเคมี มหาวิทยาลัย เทคโนโลยีมหานคร บอกว่า การเผาเซลลูโลส ซึ่งเป็นโพลิเมอร์ ทางธรรมชาติ ความร้อนจะแตกโครงสร้างทางเคมี

โมเลกุลที่ใหญ่จะเล็กลง กลายเป็น น้ำมัน กับ แก๊ส

กระบวนการแตกเซลลูโลสเป็นน้ำมัน ทำได้กับพืชทุกชนิด จะคุ้มหรือไม่ ก็ต้องดูต่อไปว่า พืชแต่ละชนิดมีน้ำเป็นองค์ประกอบมากน้อยแค่ไหน

“น้ำมาก เผาแล้วก็ได้น้ำมันน้อย”

อาจารย์วิษณุ บอกว่า น้ำมันที่ได้จากการแตกเซลลูโลส ไม่อยากให้เรียกว่าน้ำมัน ที่ถูกต้องควรเรียกว่า...สารเคมีชนิดหนึ่งที่มีคุณสมบัติใกล้เคียงน้ำมัน

สารเคมีที่ได้จากพืชนี้ อนาคตจะนำไปตกแต่งทางเคมีให้มีคุณสมบัติเหมือนน้ำมันดีเซล เบนซิน โพลิเมอร์ พลาสติก ที่ขายกันอยู่...ก็ทำได้

“เมื่อถึงวันนั้น อาจเป็นวันที่น้ำมันดิบหมดไปแล้วจากโลก”

30-40 ปีที่แล้ว โลกมีแต่ถุงผ้า กระสอบป่าน ไม่มีถุงพลาสติก พอเกิด น้ำมันดิบ ดึงมาใช้ได้ ก็เปลี่ยนองค์ประกอบเคมีให้เป็นโพลิเมอร์ พลาสติก... อนาคตถ้าน้ำมันหมดโลก โลกยังมีถ่านหิน พืชที่ทำได้ ด้วยการเปลี่ยนโครงสร้าง ...ปฏิกิริยาทางเคมี

ประเด็นที่น่าสนใจวันนี้ น้ำมันแพง พืชพลังงานไปแย่งพื้นที่ปลูกพืช อาหารมนุษย์ เมื่อพืชอาหารขาดแคลน ก็เป็นปัญหาว่า...อนาคตจะดำเนินไปในทิศทางไหน

“แล้ว...มีพืชอย่างอื่นไหม ที่เป็นพืชพลังงานได้ คำตอบคือ...มี”

อาจารย์วิษณุ พุ่งเป้าไปที่ “สาหร่าย” ในต่างประเทศเริ่มวิจัยทำเป็น รูปร่างมาหลายปีแล้ว ทั้งสาหร่ายน้ำจืด น้ำเค็ม

“สาหร่ายก็สีเขียว ต้นไม้ก็สีเขียว มีเซลลูโลส ผลิตน้ำมันได้”

ออสเตรเลีย นิวซีแลนด์ทำนาน 4-5 ปีแล้ว สกัดสาหร่ายทำน้ำมัน ผสม แอลกอฮอล์ 30 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ใช้แทนน้ำมัน มีชื่อเรียกว่า ออยล์กี้...น้ำมันจากสาหร่าย

มุมมองนี้อาจจะใหม่สำหรับประเทศไทย จุดสำคัญพืชพลังงาน หลายคนตั้งคำถามที่ความคุ้ม สาหร่ายมีองค์ประกอบเป็นน้ำมาก กว่าจะทำให้น้ำมันได้มากๆจะคุ้มหรือ?

“จะคุ้มไม่คุ้ม ขึ้นอยู่กับเทคนิคการสกัดให้ได้น้ำมันซึ่งมีหลายวิธี”

จะเหลือกาก กากก็คือเซลลูโลส นำไปผ่านกระบวนการเผาโดยไม่ใช้อากาศ ที่อุณหภูมิ 450-650 องศาเซลเซียส นาน 2-3 ชั่วโมง ก็จะได้น้ำมันมาอีกส่วนหนึ่ง

ในขั้นทดลอง การสกัดเฮกเซน ใช้เวลาไม่กี่ชั่วโมง ได้สารแทนน้ำมัน มากน้อยขึ้นอยู่กับชนิดของสาหร่าย ร้อยละ 10-15

กากที่เหลือนำไปเผาด้วยกระบวนการเผาไม่ใช้อากาศ จะได้สารแทนน้ำมัน ร้อยละ 20-30

“น้ำมันที่ออกมา อย่าคิดว่าเป็นน้ำมันพลังงาน...ให้มองถึงน้ำมันดิบที่มีองค์ประกอบ สารอินทรีย์มากมาย ก่อนนำไปกลั่นแยกได้เป็นเบนซิน ดีเซล พลาสติก...”

เปรียบเทียบน้ำมันสาหร่ายกับน้ำมันถั่วเหลือง ถั่วเหลืองสกัดน้ำมันได้มากกว่าอยู่แล้ว น้ำมันถั่วเหลืองเอาไปทำไบโอดีเซลได้ สาหร่ายสกัดออกมาผสมแอลกอฮอล์ตามสัดส่วน ก็ทำไบโอดีเซลได้เช่นกัน

น้ำมันที่ได้จาก 2 กระบวนการ มีคุณสมบัติเผาไหม้ ติดไฟได้ แต่ไม่ใช่ น้ำมันดีเซล...เบนซิน สารแทนน้ำมันในกระบวนการเผาเอาไปผสม 20-30% จะใช้เป็นน้ำมันเตาโรงงาน น้ำมันรถไถนา หรือใช้กับเครื่องยนต์เรือเดินทะเล ก็ทำได้

“ปริมาณน้ำมันต่อสาหร่ายไม่สูง สาหร่ายไม่ได้มีน้ำมันในตัวของตัวเอง แต่ทำให้มีน้ำมันออกมาได้ เพราะมีเซลลูโลส”

ในเชิงวิศวกรรม ไม่ได้ให้ความสำคัญว่าสาหร่ายสายพันธุ์ไหนให้น้ำมันมากน้อย แต่พุ่งเป้าไป ที่เทคนิคการสกัดอย่างไรใช้พลังงานน้อยที่สุด และได้น้ำมันมากที่สุด

กากที่เหลือจากกระบวนการขั้นสุดท้าย เป็นถ่านคุณภาพดี เผาไหม้สมบูรณ์ นำไปใช้เป็น พลังงานได้อีก

กระบวนการเผา หากนึกภาพไม่ออกให้คิดถึงหม้อหุงข้าว แบ่งเป็น 2 ชั้น ชั้นในปิดฝาอากาศเข้า ไม่ได้ ผ่านความร้อนเผามาจากหม้อชั้นนอกไปเรื่อยๆ เซลลูโลสหรือพืชในหม้อจะสลาย ตัวเป็นน้ำมัน และมีแก๊สออกมาด้วย

ที่เป็นรูปร่างในเชิงการค้า คือ การเผาขยะพลาสติกรีไซเคิลกลับเป็นน้ำมัน ก็ใช้หลักการนี้ ได้น้ำมันออกมาถึง ร้อยละ 80

“เผาขยะพลาสติกให้เป็นน้ำมัน ไม่ใช่เทคนิคใหม่ อย่าไปตื่นเต้น น้ำมันที่ได้จากขยะ... บางส่วนเป็นเบนซิน บางส่วนเป็นดีเซล”

หลายปีที่แล้วน้ำมันราคาถูก เครื่องเผามีต้นทุนเผาขยะให้เป็นน้ำมันลิตรละ 17 บาท...ไม่มีใครสนใจ มาวันนี้...น้ำมันลิตรละกว่า 34 บาท ก็แย่งกันเผาเพื่อ ทำกำไรกว่าเท่าตัว...สะท้อนถึงแนวคิดนำสาหร่ายมาทำน้ำมัน

อาจารย์วิษณุ บอกอีกว่า เทคนิคนี้ภูมิปัญญาไทยทำมาแต่โบราณ การเผาถ่าน กลบไม่ให้ อากาศเข้า จะได้คราบเหนียวๆ ชาวบ้านเรียกว่า น้ำมันถ่าน

ดังนั้น เทคนิคการเผาแบบไม่ใช้อากาศไม่ได้ยุ่งยาก ปัญหามีเพียง ข้อเดียว ทำอย่างไรให้สาหร่ายโตได้เร็ว เก็บเกี่ยวได้เร็ว

ในแง่ผลผลิตน้ำมันต่อพื้นที่ สาหร่ายสูงกว่าพืชพลังงานทุกชนิด หมายความว่าใช้พื้นที่เท่ากัน สาหร่ายโตได้เยอะกว่า เพราะโตได้ทั้งพื้นที่ ในแง่ความลึก...ต่อปริมาณ ไม่ได้โตต่อตารางเมตร เหมือนต้นไม้ทั่วไปที่โตแค่บนผิว

ข้อมูลต่างประเทศ ปริมาณพืชน้ำมันต่อพื้นที่ปลูก 1 หน่วย Hectare ทานตะวันได้น้ำมัน 952 ลิตร ปาล์มได้น้ำมัน 5,950 ลิตร มะพร้าวได้น้ำมัน 2,689 ลิตร

สาหร่าย...ได้น้ำมันสูงถึง 100,000 ลิตร

คิดเปอร์เซ็นต์ให้น้ำมันเฉลี่ยต่อน้ำหนักพืชขณะแห้ง สบู่ดำให้น้ำมัน 40-55%, ถั่วเหลือง 20%, ทานตะวัน 55%, ปาล์ม 50%, ข้าวโพด 7%, สาหร่าย 15-40%

ในอนาคต สาหร่ายคือ ทางเลือกใหม่ของพืชพลังงาน

อาจารย์วิษณุ บอกว่า วันนี้ ไทยแค่เริ่มต้น ต้องมองว่า...ศักยภาพของสาหร่ายมีมากมหาศาล ปลูกได้ในน้ำซึ่งมีพื้นที่ 2 ใน 3 ของโลก

ในน้ำไม่ต้องแย่งพื้นที่ปลูกกับใคร ประเทศไทยเป็นเมืองร้อน สาหร่าย เจริญเติบโตดีได้ทั้งปี ยิ่งเป็นข้อเด่นกว่าต่างประเทศ

อาจไม่ต้องพูดถึงสาหร่ายธรรมชาติ เอาแค่ในบ่อบำบัดน้ำเสีย หากหาสายพันธุ์สาหร่าย ที่เจริญเติบโตได้ดีหลายๆกลุ่มมาเลี้ยง ไม่ต้องแย่งเนื้อที่ใคร แถมไม่ต้องเสียค่ายา ค่าปุ๋ยเลี้ยงดู

อีกประโยชน์ของสาหร่าย ดึงคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ ลดปริมาณแก๊สเรือนกระจก ดูดซับโลหะหนัก บำบัดน้ำเสีย...ยิ่งทวีคุณค่ามหาศาล

“เรารู้ว่าพืชทุกชนิดผลิตน้ำมันได้ ก็หาวิธีสกัดน้ำมันออกมา ได้น้ำมันมาทำไบโอดีเซล...พืชชนิด ไหนเอาไปเผาได้น้ำมัน ก็ทำกันไป พูดถึงพืชพลังงาน ทำไมต้องมองแค่ยูคาลิปตัส สบู่ดำ ปาล์ม...ปัญหาที่ต้องมอง คือ ความเหมาะสมทั้งระบบในแต่ละพื้นที่”

ภาคการเกษตร ภาคอุตสาหกรรม จำเป็นต้องใช้น้ำมัน ยุคน้ำมันแพงอย่างนี้ อยากให้มองหลายๆพลังงานทางเลือก เพื่อเป็นทางออกยามฉุกเฉิน

โซลาร์เซลล์มีมาเนิ่นนานแล้ว ทุกคนรู้ว่าต้นทุนแพง...ไม่คุ้มค่า แต่ต่างประเทศก็ใช้แพร่หลาย ประเทศแถบยุโรปมีพลังงานนิวเคลียร์...ทำไมไม่ใช้เพียง อย่างเดียว ก็เพราะเขาต้อง การกระจาย ความเสี่ยงด้านพลังงาน วันใดที่พลังงานอย่างหนึ่งอย่างใดมีปัญหา จะได้มี พลังงานอื่นเข้ามาเสริม

“สิ่งที่คิดกันวันนี้ หลายคนอาจยังมองไม่เห็นความเป็นไปได้ แต่ในวันหน้าอาจ เป็นสิ่งที่สำคัญ ที่ทุกคนต้องพึ่งพิง”

The Miss Brazil World or Miss Mundo Brasil pageant is a pageant used to select the Brazil's Representative for Miss World.

Miss Mundo Brasil 2009 Beauty contest will be complete on 4 July at Hotel do Frade, Angra dos Reis. Miss Mundo Brasil 2008, Tamara Almeida Silva of Minas Gerais, will crown her successor at this event.

Representatives of 27 Units of the Federation, 15 islands are expected to attend the event. The winner will compete representing her country at the Miss World Contest.

Miss World 2009, the 59th Miss World beauty pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia will crown her successor, Miss World 2008. About 120 contestants are expected to attend the event.

Miss World 2008, the 58th Miss World Final will be held at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 13, 2008. Originally, the pageant was going to take place in Kiev, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing crisis between Georgia and Russia in neighboring South Ossetia, the Miss World Organization decided to move the pageant away from this Eastern European nation. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, outgoing titleholder Zhang Zilin will crown her successor.

Nataly Chilet Bustamante

Nataly Chilet Bustamante (b. c. 1985), is a beauty queen from Santiago, Chile who competed in Miss Earth 2005. She made the top eight in this international pageant, realized in Manila, Philippines. Miss Venezuela, Alexandra Braun was crowned.

In 2006, Chilet crowned Hil Hernández as Miss Earth Chile. Hernández won the title of Miss Earth 2006.

She competed also in Miss Continente Americano 2007 in June, 2007 where she classified in the top six. The pageant was held in Guayaquil, Ecuador and the winner was Marianne Cruz, Miss Dominican Republic.

In October, 2007, she participated in "Beauty for a cause" realized in Dominican Republic and in 2008, she took part as Miss Chile in "Fiesta de la fruta y de las flores" in Ambato, Ecuador.

Nataly was selected as Miss World Chile 2008 in july, by Chileancharm. She will represent her country in Miss World 2008 contest.
